We all want clean and safe water for our families.  Unfortunately, water comes into our homes with many impurities.  Most people call this water "hard water."  This water contains a lot of calcium and magnesium which causes two main problems:

• Calcium and magnesium stick to the inside of pipes and does not conduct heat well.  This causes the water passing through the pipes to remain cooler.  It also restricts the flow through the pipes as it builds up on the walls.
• Calcium and magnesium also react with soap to form a sticky scum, reducing the soap's ability to lather.  Since most of us like to use soap in the shower, it makes baths and showers less productive, and leaves our skin feeling sticky and grimy.
